Government: A democratic council rules, consisting of the heads of households

Commerce: Banriel sees little outside traffic. Its commercial life consists mainly of market days fed by its constituent farms.
Banriel is a small village deep within the Naghatar Empire. In the distant past, Banriel was part of a well-settled interior. The highlands of the Empire were predominantly gnomish, and boasted a bustling regional trade. Modern Banriel, though, been an isolated hamlet for generations. The villagers are hardy and cautious, suspicious of outsiders: theirs is one of the last surviving bastions of civilizations this deep into the mountains, and they are fully aware that they are surrounded by dangers.
